People always look for changes in life, not global changes (they are more distractive) but pleasant small changes that freshen life and make the world brighter. One of the ways to feel new taste to life is to change something in your house. It shouldn’t be connected with serious financial investments. It is always possible to bring life, just use your imagination.
It is said that the first people feel when they enter the house is the scent of it. Changing the scent of the house may lead to changing the emotions that we fill when we come back home. Light aromas, such as citrus, boiling vanilla, apple or cinnamon, will make your home cozy and fill it with warmth. Scented candles will also add romantic and intrigue to a special evening. Light plays an outstanding role in the house. It may either make your place a palace or a hut with one and the same furnishing. Believe me, you don’t need to buy expensive lighting system, you may simply bring a lamp from another room, use scarves with different prints of them to create a certain mood in the room. Be aware, arrange the scarf on the safe distance from a bulb, otherwise an inflammation may occur. You may also replace lamp shades or overly bright bulbs. Another trick that works 100 % is placing of lamps behind some furniture articles, such as sofa or armchairs. A mysterious light coming from behind will add magnificence to the room. Day light is also a powerful means of design. Never forget to open the curtains if you look for open and friendly atmosphere.
The prevailing fabric used while designing a room plays its part too. By changing window curtains or slipcovers you may add some fresh air and light to the room. It may also add new colors what have been proved to positively influence the mood. The same effect is produced by flowers and plants. Don’t buy flowers, your garden flowers will perfectly do, besides, you’ve planted and reared them yourself and they are filled with your positive energy that will be transmitted to the room. Besides, the delicate aroma of the flowers will fill the room with spring atmosphere. Pine tree cuttings will remind you and your friends of Christmas and happy days of childhood. There is another trick to change things – change the position of some decor elements.
Start from small units, remember, if you haven’t used the thing for more than two years you may probably never use it. Throw everything old and unwanted away. It attracts negative energy to your house and makes a dump out of it.
